Golf Chip Shots

The difference between a good golfer and a bad golfer is their ability to play a shot game well. If you know how to use your short irons and pitching wedge successfully then you have no trouble at scoring well on a consistent basis. There might be many ohhs and aahs in a long putt but most golfers' success is in a consistent short game.

For chip shots, irons from 7-9 along with pitching wedge are used. The main idea of a chip shot is to hit the golf ball from a short distance to on the green. Pitching or chipping requires a great deal of precision and patience along with a little dose of creativity. If done all correctly, then you get the best chip shot and an edge in the game. Chipping the ball on the green often decides the game for or against you. So, it is very important for you to master your chip shot in order to maintain a wining edge in the game. Chip shot minimizes your distance from the hole and you try to minimize this distance by landing the ball on the green as near to the putting hole as possible.

Your chip shot should be short and bouncy so that it would have just enough power to land on the green. Over do it and you might lose your winning edge in the game! It is important that you judge the golf course perfectly and take the chip shot according to the terrain of the golf course on which you are on. Analyze the situation and execute your shot according to it.

Chip shot is the best possible way to come back in the game if you are not doing well already. Practice your chip shot so that when the real deal comes, you'll do it perfectly. Make it your habit to make your chip shots always perfect so that you would always have that winning edge in your game.
